How to plan your ad budget
Work backwards from your goal. If you need 20 new customers a month, close 25% of leads, and your landing page converts 8% of clicks, you need 80 leads and 1,000 clicks. At a ₹25 CPC that is a ₹25,000 monthly budget.
The formula
- Clicks = Budget ÷ CPC
- Leads = Clicks × Conversion rate
- Customers = Leads × Close rate
- Revenue = Customers × Average order value
Tips to get more leads from the same budget
- Use dedicated landing pages instead of your homepage.
- Add WhatsApp and click-to-call — many Indian customers prefer them to forms.
- Follow up every lead within 5 minutes; speed doubles close rates.
- Retarget visitors who did not convert.
Work backwards from your sales goal
Suppose you want 10 new customers a month:
- If 1 in 5 leads becomes a customer, you need 50 leads.
- If 5% of visitors become leads, you need 1,000 clicks.
- At ₹15 per click, your budget is about ₹15,000.
These numbers are only an example. Use your own data once your campaign has been running for a while.
How to split a small budget
| Budget stage | Where to start |
|---|---|
| Small local budget | Search ads for high-intent keywords, plus your Google Business Profile |
| Growing | Add Instagram or Facebook lead ads and retargeting |
| Established | Add YouTube, wider audiences and testing |
